Online Broadcasting

#1 Post by thunder8671 » Wed Mar 19, 2014 1:23 pm

Hi guys

I'm looking to possibly broadcast a few games for a semi pro team. The only medium that I would be able to use is the Internet and it would only be an audio broadcast. Are there any websites that are good for online broadcasts and is there any equipment that you recommend using. Thanks.

MixLR is a very popular free online streaming service among the league I work in. You can check it out here: http://mixlr.com/

It's essentially like a uStream or LiveStream but without the annoying ads mid-broadcast.

Re: Equipment, there are lots of threads on this board about starter equipment, but you basically need a mixer and a headset, with a way of getting the mixer output into the microphone input on your computer. From there you're set to go!

The only problem with Mixlr is that you only get so many free hours of it and then you either have to erase files or buy premium.

Also, if the team is a 501c3 you can look into using Youtube as your platform.
