Minnesota Timberwolves moving to WCCOCourtesy
the Minneapolis Star-Tribune
(April 5, 2011) 830 WCCO AM announced this morning that they'll be the new home for Timberwolves broadcasts.
That'll be, of course, whenever the team plays again after labor issues between players and owners are resolved sometime this summer, next fall or next winter... With the exception of a two-year experiment on BOB FM 106, Wolves games have been broadcast on KFAN-AM 1130 since the very first ball was tossed up, in 1989. 'CCO -- current home to the Wild -- has lost the Twins and now Gophers sports in recent years. The move means you'll actually hear the team's pregame show on its flagship station for all 82 regular-season games, plus two selected preseason games. And it'll be for 30 minutes each both before and after games. Right now, that 30-minute pregame show airs only on affiliate stations because KFAN currently runs "Best Of" programming from 6:30 to 7 p.m. for weekday home games. Read more at
