(March 31, 2011) The Hillcats are pleased to introduce Erik Wilson as the new Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations for the upcoming 2011 campaign. Wilson takes over as the "Voice of the Hillcats" for all 140 broadcasts on 105.5 FM KD Country.

Wilson, 23, replaces Scott Bacon, who was a part of the Hillcats broadcast team since 2007 and served as the lead announcer over the past three seasons. Bacon is leaving the Hillcats to take a position with Longwood University as the "Voice of the Lancers" and the Director of Development for Intercollegiate Athletics.

Wilson begins his first season with the Hillcats in 2011. He has one year of prior professional baseball broadcasting experience with the Camden Riversharks of the Independent Atlantic League in 2010. Originally from Valencia, CA, Wilson attended the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), where he called baseball games for the campus radio station. He also played three years with the UCSB club baseball team.

Again this year all broadcasts can be heard on 105.5 FM KD Country as well as 96.9 FM in Roanoke. The games can also be heard world wide on the internet at kdcountry.com, lynchburg-hillcats.com and milb.com.
