Rod Phillips retired last year, but came back to do ten games in what you might call a farewell tour. Tuesday's game against the Kings will be the play by play man's last.

While the moment will surely be emotional for Phillips - it also means a lot to people who've worked with him over the years.

"I think he means to Edmonton - someone who they heard every night during the glory years of this franchise." Bob Miller, voice of the L.A. Kings said about his friend Rod Phillips.

"There's Gretzky, Messier, Kurri and all the great players." Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal said. "If you grew up in Edmonton - before all the games were on TV, you listened to Rod on the radio."

Phillips has with the team since 1973 - before the Oilers were even part of the NHL.
