Just kidding. He won't be.

SNY and my SportsWatch column always have been bonded in history.

The day of my first sports media column, Sept. 30, 2005, was the very day I also reported on the news conference to announce the name of the new network.

SNY did not get off to an auspicious start.

There were several embarrassing technical glitches in the first hour or two after it launched on the evening of March 16, 2006.

Andrew Marchand of the Post and I had been expecting to watch the big moment at CBS during the network's annual first-day-of-the-NCAAs party, but the technical staff was unable to figure out how to get the channel on any of its several dozen screens at the CBS Broadcast Center on West 57th Street.

So Marchand and I raced across town and got to SNY's office on 51st Street just in time to see the first images in network history. See is the operative word. There was no audio.

Anyway, SNY has gone on to bigger and better things in the five years since, notably by assembling perhaps the best regional sports network announcing crew in MLB with Gary Cohen, Ron Darling and Hernandez.

The network also has become the most valuable piece of the Mets' financially tenuous empire.

But that's a story for another day...
