Timbers partner with Root SportsCourtesy

(March 8, 2011) The Portland Timbers announced Tuesday a new founding partnership with broadcaster Root Sports, formally FSN Northwest, the regional sports network of the Major League Soccer club.
The station will televise 16 regular-season Timbers games, starting with the 6 p.m. Saturday, March 19 match against defending MLS Cup-champions Colorado Rapids in Colorado. In addition to its partnership with Root Sports, the Timbers also announced partnerships with television broadcasters KPTV Fox 12 and Estrella TV (KGW 8.3) and with radio broadcasters Sportsradio 95.6 The Game (KXTG 95.5 FM) and La Pantera (KBY 940 AM).
