STAA's Casson to call second national finals

(March 7, 2011) The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) announced that STAA client Steve Casson, the voice of the Missouri State Ice Bears Hockey Team for the past 6 seasons, has been selected as play-by-play broadcaster for the ACHA Division III National Tournament for the second year in a row.

The top 16 hockey teams from the ACHA will compete in a 3-day round robin tournament from March 9th to 12th, 2011 at the Edge Ice Arena in Holland, Michigan with the top 2 teams competing for the championship on Saturday, March 12th.

Broadcaster and owner of Ozark, Missouri based WebSports Radio, Casson has also called games of the ACHA Division II and III Regional playoffs and Mid- America Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA) post-season play every year since the 2005 season. Casson was also honored to travel with the 2009-2010 Division II ACHA Select Team as the play-by-play broadcaster while touring through five European countries - France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria from December 27th, 2009 to January 7th, 2010.

Pools set for the ACHA D3 National tournament in Holland Michigan include: Pool A is lead by College of the Canyons who is the #1 seed from the Pacific region. They will be facing 2-time ACHA DIII Champion Saginaw Valley State, Loyola-Maryland and Fredonia State. Pool B is lead by California Univ. of PA who is the #1 seed from the Atlantic. Their pool also includes Florida Gulf Coast, Davenport and McKendree. Pool C features Central Florida as the #1 seed from the South. The UCF team will be playing Farmingdale State, Colorado State, and Michigan State. Pool D features Hope College who enter the tournament as the #1 seed from the North. Their tournament path goes thru Colorado, Robert Morris and Florida Atlantic.
