(February 17, 2011) Angels Baseball and its flagship station KLAA AM 830, Thursday announced the hiring of David Baronfeld as General Manager of the station effective immediately. The announcement was made by Club Chairman Dennis Kuhl.

"We are pleased to have someone of David's background and talents join KLAA AM 830," Kuhl said. "The station and its brand continue to grow in a variety of areas and we look forward to David's role in pushing both forward."

"The ownership of KLAA repeatedly delivers quality performance on the field," said Baronfeld. "I am looking forward to a collective effort doing the same on the radio dial."

In his role, Baronfeld will oversee sales, programming and general management of the station.

Baronfeld, a graduate of Hofstra University, began his radio career at the age of 18, and became the youngest full-time disc jockey on the air in New York City at age 20. He landed his first Sales Manager's job at 27. At age 34, he was appointed to his first senior management position as General Manager of KSJO-FM in San Jose, CA. He went on to spend nearly 10 years at Westwood One as Senior Vice President of the Western Region, overseeing 19 cities in the western half of the United States. Over the past three years Baronfeld served as General Manager of Viamedia, a cable television ad sales rep firm, and built the advertising sales unit for Verizon FiOS TV in southern California.

He and his wife Carol reside in Huntington Beach, CA.
