(January 31, 2011) 710 ESPN Seattle's Mike Salk will host a national show on ESPN Radio called SportsCenter Saturday with Mike Salk.
The show will air Saturdays from 5-9 p.m. on 710 ESPN Seattle, beginning Jan. 29. Here is what Mike had to say about the new show: What should we expect to hear? "The show will be mostly opinion-driven and as people have probably found, I tend to look at the world a little bit differently. I hope a listener will at least consider looking at a topic in a new way. "There will also be regular national SportsCenter updates and I'll have instant reaction to breaking news. Saturday evening is a fun time because so many games are ending during that time." What are you most excited about? "Brock & Salk focuses mostly on local conversation, which I love. But there is so much that goes on around the nation that we don't often get a chance to discuss. Now I can. "This is also an opportunity for the country to hear a show that emanates from the Northwest. I'll be covering national topics, but some of that Seattle perspective will come out because that's where I'll find my daily anecdotes and examples. "And, no Brock. That's always a plus." How did the new show come about? "I've been the regular fill-in for Doug Gottlieb since Brock & Salk moved to our morning time slot in August and I've been filling in on ESPN Radio for three years. They wanted to give me a regular slot and this was the time that worked for everyone." Read more at
