(January 7, 2011) Scott McCarthy is named GM of Disney/ABC's KSPN (ESPN Radio 710)/Los Angeles. He most recently founded and served as managing partner of investment and consulting firm Alacon Ventures and before that was president of Ziff Davis Media's game group.

McCarthy served as EVP of ABC Radio Networks from 2001-2004, and before that as SVP/ABC Broadcast Group, and he led the launch of Radio Disney as its GM.

"Our deliberate search allowed us to recognize someone with Scott's vast background and bring him back to the Walt Disney Company," ESPN Radio Group SVP Tim McCarthy said. "Scott's unique experience in both the radio and digital media platforms will help 710 ESPN better serve L.A>-area fans through its own methods of distribution, and by coordinating efforts with ESPNLosAngeles.com."
