(January 7, 2011) The Nationals, as expected, are going to choose F.P. Santangelo as the analyst for Nationals games on MASN. Santangelo, 43, spent last season as the back-up analyst for both the San Francisco Giants team radio broadcasts and for Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. No official announcement has been made.

Santangelo played outfield for four teams, primarily the Montreal Expos, over a seven-year career before retiring following the 2001 season. In 2007, Santegelo's name surfaced in the Mitchell Report, and he later admitted using human growth hormone on two occasions to heal injuries.

Ray Knight, who replaced Rob Dibble after the Nationals fired the controversial broadcaster, was among the finalists before the Nationals decided on Santangelo.
