(January 7, 2011) After three years hosting "The Back Page", Jason Page is out as host of the popular afternoon-drive program on ESPN Radio 1410- Hartford and ESPN Radio 1300- New Haven.

Page tells Sportscasters Talent Agency of America (S-T-Double-A) that his contract expired on Thursday and he was informed of the decision by management to terminate his employment after his broadcast ended at 6:30 PM.

"When the option for my contract wasn't picked up a few months back, I knew this was a possibility."

Page says management told him they wanted to go in a different direction and that no one thing led to the decision. "They are calling it amicable. Not even sure what that means but you just have to go with the flow."

Page's show had solid PPM numbers in its first few months in the new Arbitron system and Page hopes to take the show somewhere else.

In addition to his sports talk show, Page has served as play-by-play voice for the Hartford Colonials UFL Franchise as well as CCSU Football. No word on whether or not he will continue in those roles.

"I have been fortunate to speak to the greatest listeners in the world over the past three years. They often meant more to my sanity than I probably meant to theirs."

Page says he is looking forward to pursuing some other radio and TV opportunities very soon.
