101 ESPN signs deal with Missouri Valley

(January 7, 2011) 101 ESPN – the #1 source for Sports Radio in St. Louis – announced that the sports/talk radio station has signed a three-year agreement with Missouri Valley Conference Sports Properties (MVCSP), with exclusive rights to broadcast men’s basketball games of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in St. Louis through the 2012-13 season.

The 2010-2011 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament will be held at the Scottrade Center March 3rd through 6th, 2011.

In addition to carrying all of the action from the State Farm MVC Tournament, WXOS will also air daily programming with a conference-oriented show beginning two weeks prior to each season’s tournament. The show will feature scores and highlights from games within the Missouri Valley Conference league.

“Learfield Sports and MVC Sports Properties are excited about the partnership between the MVC and WXOS-FM,” says MVCSP general manager Branden Miller. “The State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament has a storied tradition and the prestige of the tournament will continue to grow with our new broadcast on 101 ESPN, a proven leader in the sports broadcasting industry.”

101 ESPN Program Director Jason Barrett notes, “We couldn’t be more enthusiastic about entering into this agreement with the Missouri Valley Conference. As the leader among sports radio stations in St. Louis, we feel it is very important be able to bring our audience the excitement of the MVCSP’s outstanding college basketball tournament coverage.”
