Applications being accepted for 2011 Nantz AwardSTAA
(January 5, 2011) STAA is looking for the best collegiate sports broadcasters in the country. Applications are now being accepted for the 2011 STAA All-America program and Jim Nantz Award, recognizing the nation’s most outstanding collegiate sports broadcasters.
The 2011 Jim Nantz Award will be presented May 16th at the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association's annual awards banquet in Salisbury, NC. The Nantz Award winner will receive round trip airfare and lodging. Last year’s winner was John Twork (left) of Eastern Illinois University. In all, 18 colleges and universities were represented in last year’s Top 20. Students from dozens of additional schools received honorable mention. The STAA All-America program encourages collegiate sportscasters nationwide to strive to achieve their best. Each spring, the nation's most outstanding collegiate sportscaster is presented the Jim Nantz Award, named in honor of the award winning CBS sports broadcaster.
