(December 22, 2010) He lived life to the fullest...

That's how Paul Carson is being remembered by friends this morning.
The long-time Vancouver sportscaster passed away at age 60 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Carson was the "father" of Vancouver's Team 1040 Radio.

Greg Douglas, AKA Dr Sport, worked with Carson at CKVU TV where Paul was host of Sports Page.

"He was the kind of guy that was a friend of the pro sports teams. Those were the days when management could talk to a guy like Paul Carson behind closed doors and rest assured that if something was said off the record - it stayed off the record".

Douglas says he's never heard anyone say anything bad about him, adding, in broadcasting, that's really something.

Carson was responsible for the launch of TEAM Radio in the spring of 2001, and also founded Sports Page, the much-loved sports magazine show that ended its 28-year-run in 2005.
