(December 17, 2010) The Eagle is landing, but usually doesn’t stay long.
Ian Eagle will do the play-by-play for CBS of the Rams-Chiefs game Sunday (KMOV, Channel 4 locally at noon), his seventh broadcast in six cities over an 11-day span for the versatile broadcaster. Not only is he the TV voice of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets, he also does some NFL play-by-play for the national radio broadcast (he worked with former Rams quarterback Trent Green on the Thursday night game last week) and does football and college basketball broadcasting for CBS. He did the St. Louis University-Duke hoops game last Saturday, then the Dolphins-Jets NFL game the next day. And he’ll be coming to St. Louis on Saturday morning from Toronto, where he’s scheduled to broadcast the Nets-Raptors game tonight after calling the Nets’ game at home Thursday against Washington. "I’m living the dream. I’m juggling a lot of balls’’ he said Thursday. "It’s a fun time of the year.’’ Eagle will work Sunday with analyst Dan Fouts, a Hall of Fame quarterback, and they’ll see Rams rookie QB Sam Bradford at work. Eagle broadcast a lot of Colts games in quarterback Peyton Manning’s rookie season so he said he’s looking forward to seeing Bradford play. "With Manning, you could see him gradually improve’’ that rookie year, Eagle said. ‘"And what I already see with Bradford is that he’s got poise.’’ Read more at
