(November 24, 2010) The National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA), in conjunction with Sportscasters Talent Agency of America (STAA), has announced that the 2011 Jim Nantz Award will be presented at the 52nd Annual NSSA Awards Banquet on May 16, 2011 in Salisbury, NC.

The Nantz Award is given annually by STAA to the best collegiate sportscaster, as judged by a panel of sports media experts. It is part of STAA's Sportscasting All-America Program, which encourages student sportscasters to strive to do their best.

Eastern Illinois University senior John Twork was voted the 2010 Nantz Award. Marshall University's Adam Cavalier, a recent NSSA member, won the Award in 2009.

NSSA Executive Director Dave Goren said, "We are very excited that Jon Chelesnik and STAA will be involved with NSSA this coming year. To be able to recognize the future of sports media is very important to us. And the natural connection to Jim Nantz, who is a five-time NSSA National Sportscaster of the Year and great friend of NSSA, is icing on the cake."

Chelesnik said, "We're flattered and grateful the NSSA has extended this opportunity to us. It adds to the prestige of the Jim Nantz Award and will afford some invaluable networking opportunities to next year's winner."
