Even bad Cowboys draw big
(November 16, 2010) The Dallas Cowboys, despite coming into Sunday's game at the New York Giants with just one win, are still TV stars.
Fox's coverage drew a 17.6 overnight rating, translating into 17.6% of households in the 56 urban TV markets measured for overnights, which is the highest NFL game overnight on any network this season. That 17.6 overnight, also up 4% from Fox's comparable coverage of a Dallas-Green Bay game in the time slot last year, was helped by an eight-minute delay due to stadium power outages that pushed Fox's coverage into primetime. NBC's New England-Pittsburgh game Sunday night drew a 14.2 overnight, down 6% from comparable coverage of a New England-Indianapolis game last year. Dallas — now 2-7 — won 33-20 for its first victory under interim coach Jason Garrett. Read more at
