(November 15, 2010) One year after successfully completing his quest for the “Century Club”, Illinois high school sports broadcaster Beau Spencer is attempting to broadcast 150 games during the 2010-11 basketball season.

Last year, Spencer broadcasted play-by-play on 112 games and blogged about each contest. The content of each passage included; game recaps, conversations from each gym, unique and interesting stories from the road, and the amount of mileage of each trip.

He logged over 7,000 miles during the season, which averaged out to over seven broadcasts per week. “I love to broadcast high school basketball, and attempting to broadcast 100 games last season was a lot of fun. It will be an extreme test of endurance to call 150 games in one season, but I am up for the tough challenge,” Spencer said in anticipation of the tipoff on Monday November 15th.

Once again, he will keep a “travel-blog” of each broadcast, highlighting the quest. Beau Spencer is the sports director at AM 1590 WAIK in Galesburg and 97.7 WMOI and 1330 WRAM in Monmouth. Spencer founded the Illinois High School Sports Network (www.ihssn.net) in 2008.
