The award-winning radio station will broadcast all Purple Eagle contests on either WGR 550 AM or its sister station, WWKB 1520 AM. Todd Callen returns to the airwaves for his fourth season as "The Voice of the Purple Eagles".

"Niagara University has consistently been the top local collegiate basketball program, as well as an annual MAAC title contender," Entercom Vice President & Marketing Manager Greg Ried said. "We are excited to have Niagara Basketball join our winning sports programming lineup."

As part of Entercom Communications Corporation, WGR earned the 2009 Marconi Award for Best Sports Radio Station in the Country.

Niagara Athletics has recently paired with WGR personalities for men’s hockey and men’s basketball radio and television broadcasts. WGR beat reporter Paul Hamilton has served as men’s hockey play-by-play announcer since the 2002-03 season, while radio personalities Jeremy White and Nick Mendola joined the team for the past two years. All three have also been a part of the Niagara Sports Network since its inception in 2007.

"For our established athletic program to be able to partner with such an esteemed radio station is a win-win for both parties," Niagara Associate Athletics Director Jim Herrmann said.

All 31 regular season games will be broadcast by the Entercom stations, as 16 games will air live on WGR and 15 contests on WWKB. The season opener at Auburn will air at 9:30 p.m., live on WWKB 1520 AM.
