(November 5, 2010) Maybe it would be jumping to a conclusion to say that Michael Felger’s entertaining rants about Randy Moss and Brett Favre are bringing in listeners, but this much we do know: October was a remarkable month for The Sports Hub’s afternoon drive-time show.

Hosted by Felger and Tony Massarotti, it finished second in the Arbitron ratings last month, earning a 7.1 share in the male 25-54 demographic, up 24.6 percent from a 5.7 in September.

WEEI’s “The Big Show’’ finished fourth based on its AM-only share with a 5.7, showing no change from September. Even with the Boston share for Providence-based WEEI-FM factored in, an approach Entercom and WEEI executives emphasize, the “Felger and Massarotti’’ program still finished ahead of Glenn Ordway and “The Big Show,’’ which had a 6.8 share when both AM and FM measures are included.

WEEI’s midday “Dale and Holley Show’’ also made an impressive leap from September to October, finishing third in AM-only numbers and improving 24 percent, from a 5.0 to a 6.2 share last month. (With FM numbers included, it’s second at 7.4.) The Sports Hub’s “Gresh and Zolak’’ program was down from 4.5 to 3.9, finishing tied for 10th.

In morning drive, WEEI’s “Dennis and Callahan Show’’ was first with an 8.2 (9.1 including FM), up 7.9 percent from September. The Sports Hub’s “Toucher and Rich’’ program continued to surge, finishing second (7.8), a 13 percent improvement over last month.
