(October 27, 2010) The Brewers just announced that Hall of Fame radio voice Bob Uecker was released from Froedtert Hospital today after undergoing successful heart surgery last Tuesday.
It was the second heart surgery for Uecker this year. The second procedure was needed to repair a slight tear that formed as a result of a staph infection after the first surgery. “I want to thank the doctors and staff at Froedtert again for the terrific care throughout the surgery and recovery,” Uecker said. “I am encouraged to be going home and I appreciate the kind wishes from Brewers fans as I continue to recuperate.” The surgery was performed by Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin cardiothoracic surgeon Alfred C. Nicolosi. "We're pleased that Bob's doing well and can continue his recovery at home," Nicolosi said. Read more at
