(October 18, 2010) Longtime Cavaliers' radio play-by-play announcer Joe Tait has returned home after being hospitalized with pneumonia in Houston.

Tait spent five days in The Methodist Hospital. He was diagnosed while the Cavaliers were on a road trip in Texas.

The team said Tait went back to Ohio on Friday night. He will continue to get treatment and rest for the remainder of the preseason.

Tait was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this summer. He began with the Cavs in 1970, their inaugural NBA season. Tait's style and signature calls have endeared him to Cleveland fans for decades. Last year, he broadcast his 3,000th game.

The Cavaliers open this season Oct. 27 against Boston.
