Cavs announce replacement broadcasters
(October 14, 2010) With legendary Cavaliers radio play-by-play announcer Joe Tait recovering from pneumonia, the Cavaliers have announced replacement radio broadcast teams for the final four preseason games.
Tait experienced chest pains and difficulty breathing Sunday in Houston when the Cavaliers were playing. He has been the Cavaliers' announcer most of their 40 years. Tait was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame earlier this year and planned to retire after this season. The games will be aired on WTAM 1100 AM. Oct. 14 vs. San Antonio at Pittsburgh Cavaliers FS Ohio TV Play-by-Play Announcer Fred McLeod and Cavaliers FS Ohio TV Pregame/Postgame Analyst and Cavaliers Legend and Director of Alumni Relations Campy Russell. Oct. 16 vs. CSKA at Home Cavaliers Radio Network Studio Host and WTAM Sports Director Mike Snyder and Cavaliers Postgame Radio Analyst and Cavaliers Legend Jim Chones. Oct. 19 vs. Philadelphia at Cincinnati Cavaliers Radio Network Studio Host and WTAM Sports Director Mike Snyder and Cavaliers FS Ohio TV Pregame & Postgame Analyst and Cavaliers Legend and Director of Alumni Relations Campy Russell. Oct. 21 vs. Milwaukee at Columbus Cavaliers FS Ohio TV Play-by-Play Announcer Fred McLeod and Cavaliers FS Ohio TV Color Analyst and Cavaliers Legend Austin Carr. Read more at
