101 ESPN moves into Top 3 in St. LouisPress Release
(October 8, 2010) 101 ESPN – St. Louis’ #1 Sports/Talk radio station – has become one
of the top dogs in St. Louis radio!
Overall, 101 ESPN is ranked the #3 radio station within the key demos of Men 25-54, from 6A-7P for September 2010. This ranking includes all radio formats, including both sports AND music stations! The newest St. Louis sports/talk radio station scored an 8.1 overall share in the latest survey for Men 25-54 during daily programming, continuing to dominate their sports/talk radio competitors in the September ratings. Also key for the St. Louis Sports/Talk station, 101 ESPN ranked #4 over the 3 month “Summer Book” average, within the key demos of Men 25-54 6A-7P. Each of the four daily shows on 101 ESPN continued to experienced significant growth according to the Arbitron PPM Survey results: For the first time ever, the nationally-syndicated “Mike & Mike in the Morning” Show moved from fourth to second place with an 8.8 share, the highest rating for this timeslot since the station’s debut in January 2009. The show has been in the Top 5 for its timeslot for nine straight months, and it has delivered top 5 performances in 10 of the past 11 months. “The Bob Stelton Show” continues to have a strong presence on the St. Louis airwaves, scoring a 6.3 rating and keeping the #4 ranking among Men 25-54. And according to the latest survey and the “Summer Book”, this is the first time in the station’s history that the 9a-11a timeslot finished in the Top 5 for a 3 month period. 101 ESPN/September 2010 Arbitron PPM Survey Results “The Bernie Miklasz Show” increased from August’s rating of 8.1 to an 8.2 overall share in September. This is the show’s highest monthly rating yet, and places Bernie’s show inside the Top 5 among Men 25-54 for back to back months. “The Bernie Miklasz Show” also delivers a Top 4 finish for the Summer Book. “The Fast Lane” finishes in 2nd place for the month of September with a 9.0 share, their highest Arbitron ranking to date for a 30 day period. “The Fast Lane” has now delivered 10 consecutive Top 5 ratings performances during PM drive among listeners in the key audience demographic of Men 25-54. According to 101 ESPN Program Director Jason Barrett, “Our entire team is excited and motivated by September’s Arbitron ratings and the St. Louis radio rankings. While it is evident that the local Sports/Talk audience is entertained by us, our consistent ratings climb shows that the St. Louis sports fans trust us as well.” He continues, “After last month’s positive Arbitron report, we came out and validated our August numbers by stringing together back-to-back months of outstanding performances on all four of our daily shows.” Barrett adds, “What we have accomplished this year – and especially over the past three months – is simply outstanding.
