ESPN Radio finds new home in San DiegoCourtesy

(September 29, 2010) ESPN Radio has a new home in San Diego.
XEPE-AM, better known as San Diego 1700, will begin carrying ESPN Radio programming on Wednesday, Oct. 6, the same day the network begins broadcasting the baseball playoffs. All of ESPN Radio’s play-by-play — highlighted by the playoffs in the NBA, baseball and college football — will be on 1700, and some of it also will be simulcast on XX Sports 1090. Outside of live events, 1700-AM will have ESPN Radio programming weekdays except between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., when money and financial shows will air. ESPN Radio also will be on 1700 on the weekends and it will be simulcast on 1090 during late-night and early morning hours. One downside: When a baseball game conflicts with the financial programming, sports fans will lose. The money shows help pay the bills. Read more at
