(September 29, 2010) Orlando Alzugaray -- widely known as the "Big O" -- is joining WFTL (AM 640) after a 13-year stint at WQAM (AM 560).

Alzugaray replaces Ed Kaplan as the weekday afternoon drive host on WFTL (3-7 p.m.), starting Thursday.

"I'm extremely excited and I appreciate the opportunity and commitment WFTL has provided me," said Alzugaray.

Alzugaray was born and raised in South Florida. He graduated from Hialeah High (class of '85) and from Bauder College in 1992.

He started his radio career at WLQI 1320 AM, and is the first broadcaster in South Florida to have an everyday talk show in both English and Spanish. Orlando hosted "La Ensalada Deportiva" (The Sports Salad) on WACC.
