(September 17, 2010) The CBS network quickly reinstated NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe, after a protection order against the former Broncos star was withdrawn.

Michele Bundy, formerly of the Denver area, was granted a temporary restraining order against Sharpe by a Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta. Sharpe agreed Tuesday to take a leave of absence from CBS until the legal matter was resolved.

The Fulton County Court said that Bundy, who was representing herself, "voluntarily dismissed" the protection order.

CBS announced Thursday it was reinstating Sharpe and he would be on the "The NFL Today" studio set this Sunday.

"I had every expectation that based on truth alone these claims would never reach a court," Sharpe said in a statement. "This issue was dismissed in its totality and no monies and no communication were exchanged. Now, I look forward to getting to work."

Bundy and her daughter had been living in the Denver area until she moved to the Atlanta area in June. She said in a statement e-mailed to the Denver Post: "I requested the temporary order be removed from fear of retribution, and felt our lives were in more danger with it in place."

Denver-area acquaintances of Bundy were alarmed but not overly surprised upon hearing the news she had taken legal action against Sharpe.

"My first reaction was: 'Oh, my God, this woman is trying to put the screws to this guy,' " Troy Holocker of Denver said. "Everyone knows this is a lie. This is what the woman went out to do. To hear this woman drag his name through the mud made me mad."

In the petition filed in the Fulton County court earlier this week, Bundy alleged that Sharpe threatened her life and forced her into sex. Attempts to reach Bundy were unsuccessful. Sharpe has not been arrested or charged with a crime.

"She's been infatuated with Shannon Sharpe for years to the point I think she was kind of stalking him," Thayne Davis of Roxborough said. "She moved to Georgia to be closer to him. She has some insane idea in her head that he's going to be in a relationship with her."

Davis and his wife recently allowed Bundy and her daughter to live in their Roxborough home for a few months. However, Davis said Bundy had overstayed her welcome at their home and was ordered to leave in late-June.

"We had to get the police to escort her out," Davis said. "She was fabricating stories against me too."

Davis said Bundy had lived in Denver for several years, including a stretch when she worked for a television station. Bundy met Sharpe, Davis said, during a time when she was granted media credentials to the Broncos' games and locker room at designated interview times. Davis said he occasionally accompanied Bundy as a photographer.

Bundy lived in New York for about five years, Davis said, then returned this year to the Denver area before recently moving to the Atlanta area.

"She sold everything she had, bought an RV and moved out to be close to Shannon Sharpe's house," Davis said.
