101 ESPN St. Louis rockets into Top 5Press Release
(September 14, 2010) 101 ESPN – St. Louis’ #1 Sports/Talk radio station – experienced significant gains in the Men 25-54 listeners category, according to the August Arbitron PPM Rating Survey released earlier today. 101 ESPN is now the #5 station among Male listeners ages 25-54 for all radio formats, including both sports AND music stations! All four of the stations’ daily shows (Monday-Friday, 6am-7pm) finished inside of the Top 5 within their target demographic group for the first time ever since it’s debut in January 2009. This is the highest overall performance by the station for one month during its existence as a sports station, according to the August 2010 Arbitron survey. The newest St. Louis sports/talk radio station scored a 6.3 overall share in the latest survey and continues to lead the field within its format, dominating the August ratings in comparison to their sports/talk radio competitors. Every one of 101 ESPN’s locally-produced daily shows also showed major growth in the latest Arbitron survey: • The nationally-syndicated “Mike & Mike in the Morning” Show moved from fifth to fourth place with an 8.3 share, the highest rating for this timeslot since the station’s debut in January 2009. The show has been in the Top 5 for its timeslot for eight months straight. • With a huge jump in ratings, “The Bob Stelton Show” increased to a 6.3 share, up from July’s 2.9 share. The latest survey results usher in a new era for the show, which is now in fourth place among Men 25-54. Augusts’ Arbitron survey is the best rating and ranking the timeslot has ever achieved since the sports/talk station’s inception. • “The Bernie Miklasz Show” increased from July’s 5.4 rating to Augusts’ 8.1 overall share. This marks the station’s best performance to date in this timeslot, and a personal best for “The Bernie Miklasz Show”. • For the first time, “The Fast Lane” PM Drive Show moves from a 7.0 in July to a 9.0 share for August, and is now ranked #3 among Men 25-54 according to the latest survey. This is the ninth consecutive monthly Top 5 finish in PM Drive for the show among all male adult radio listeners in St. Louis, regardless of the format. According to 101 ESPN Program Director Jason Barrett, “The latest Arbitron survey reveals that August 2010 was one phenomenal month for our radio station - the best we’ve experienced yet.” Barrett continues, “Our entire team at 101 ESPN is working tirelessly to bring the best and most up-to-date content and programming to sports fans, both on the air and online.
