SNY kicks off UCONN football coverage

(September 2, 2010) SNY, the "official television home of UConn Huskies football and men's basketball program, has kicked off its gridiron fare with the debut of head coach Randy Edsall's weekly press conference.

UConn Press Pass, which bowed Aug. 31, will air each Tuesday during the college football season at 4 p.m.

On Sept. 3, the regional sports network will debut the UConn Football Preview Show presented by Raymour & Flanigan, giving viewers a look at the team as it prepared for its opener against Michigan the following day in Ann Arbor.

SNY's live UConn football game coverage --extending to some five contests -- starts at noon on Sept. 11, when the Huskies take on Texas Southern. SNY will also air the following week's UConn-Temple match-up live on Sept. 18 at that time.

All Huskies football games airing on SNY will be wrapped by in-depth pre- and post-game shows. Check out SNY.tv for the complete Huskies football schedule, including full game encores.

The RSN, which will increase its distribution to Comcast's full Connecticut footprint with launches on systems serving Middletown, Clinton, Groton, Norwich, Old Lyme and Vernon on Sept. 3, will also air Huskies Power Hour, in which UConn games will be rebroadcast and condensed to a one-hour show. The UConn vs. Texas Southern Huskies Power Hour will premiere on Sept. 12 at 7 a.m., while UConn-Temple version is set for Sept. 18 at 11 p.m.
Throughout the year, SNY will feature annually more than 300 hours of UConn programming, including 120 hours of Huskies' game coverage.
