(September 2, 2010) Sports radio station '790 The Zone' (WQXI-AM) announced that writing, broadcasting and reporting icons Tony Barnhart and Wes Durham will join its weekday line-up starting September 3. Barnhart and Durham will air Monday-Friday from 10

a.m. to 1 p.m. on both 790 the Zone and 790thezone.com.

Barnhart appears weekly on CBS' College Football Today and has over 30 years of experience as a writer and editor for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He also hosts the Tony Barnhart Show on CBS College Sports Network and has authored four books on college football. Durham, a six-time Georgia Sportscaster of the Year Award winner, has been the play-by-play voice for Georgia Tech football and basketball since 1995 and has anchored play-by-play for the Atlanta Falcons since 2004.

"Barnhart and Durham will provide sports fans uncanny knowledge, tremendous depth into the college and pro football landscape and the most high-profile guests in sports radio," said Andrew Saltzman, VP/General Manager of 790 the Zone. "Finally, listeners get what they've wanted for a long time -a daily show talking football with Tony and Wes."

"Atlanta is and always will be a premiere college football town and this show will prove that," said Barnhart. "Wes and I have always wanted a daily show on football with the best guests, information and analysis in the country. It’s going to be fun."

Both Barnhart and Durham have contributed regularly to 790 The Zone for almost a decade. The pair has hosted the station's weekly Southern Football Kickoff Show for the last five years.

"We have enjoyed the weekly show but I'm thrilled to work with my friend Tony on a daily basis," said Durham. "We're greatly expanding a show that focuses on football and the biggest topics and issues in the game."

790 The Zone (WQXI-AM) is Atlanta's premiere sports talk station, broadcasting since 1997. 790 The Zone is the flagship station of Georgia Tech football and men’s basketball, the Chick-fil-A Bowl, the joint sales and marketing arm in agreement with CBS Radio and the Atlanta Falcons Radio Network, and provider of sports content for CSS and CBS Atlanta Television.
