Ted Leitner will return to Padres in 2011Courtesy
San Diego Union Tribune
(August 27, 2010) All the rumors about Ted Leitner’s supposedly shaky future with the Padres can stop now.
Leitner, the veteran broadcaster nearing the end of his 31st season with the club, will be back for season No. 32 in 2011. The Padres have picked up his option for next year, according to sources who asked to remain anonymous because an announcement has not been made. The sources also said it is very likely Leitner’s broadcasting partners, Andy Masur and Jerry Coleman, will return in 2011. Padres club President Tom Garfinkel declined to comment. Leitner, who was not scheduled to work Thursday’s Padres game, could not be reached. He is not scheduled to work tonight’s game, either. Read more at
