(August 26, 2010) Dan Dierdorf is among the former Big Ten Conference players who have been added to the Big Ten Network's football coverage for the upcoming season.
The Big Ten Network announced its new broadcasters and show lineups on Wednesday. Dierdorf, who played at Michigan, will serve as host of "Big Ten Film Vault," which is to air at 7 p.m. Central on Tuesdays beginning Sept. 7. Dierdorf, who is on CBS Sports' No. 2 NFL game broadcast team, will present film from the Big Ten Network's archives, most of which has never aired on national television. Eric Collins and Chris Martin will serve as one of the new main play-by-play teams for the network. Collins is a television play-by-play voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Martin was a defensive back at Northwestern. Tom Hart and Anthony Herron are the other new game announcing team. Hart was with CBS Sports for five years. Herron was a defensive lineman at Iowa. Other studio analysts who have joined the network include LeCharles Bentley (Ohio State), Rosevelt Colvin (Purdue), Derek Rackley (Minnesota), Muhsin Muhammad (Michigan State) and Amani Toomer (Michigan). The third announcing team is Matt Devlin and Rackley, who was a tight end and long snapper at Minnesota. Milwaukee broadcasters Craig Coshun and Wayne Larrivee will handle play-by-play for some football games on the Big Ten Network. Read more at
