Kentucky Sports Radio coming to WKJKCourtesy

(August 19, 2010) Kentucky Sports Radio, which began as a Web site for fans of University of Kentucky football and basketball, is coming to the airwaves in Louisville.
Kentucky Sports Radio owner and host Matt Jones will co-host a two-hour program each weekday on WKJK-AM, which operates as TalkRadio 1080. Jones will join STAA client Zach McCrite, who until recently was host of The Big EZ radio show on now defunct WQKC-FM. Cumulus Radio shut down WQKC and sister station WLCL-FM earlier this month. The Kentucky Sports Radio program will air in the 10 a.m. to noon time slot, beginning Monday, Aug. 23, according to a news release. In addition to the program, Matt Jones will serve as the host of University of Kentucky athletics postgame shows on WKJK’s sister station, WHAS-AM, according to the release. Both stations are owned by San Antonio, Texas-based Clear Channel Radio Inc. (OTCBB: CCMO). “We hope to provide the vast KSR Web audience another way to interact with Matt and follow the Cats on the radio,” Clear Channel Louisville market president Bill Gentry said in the release.
