(August 13, 2010) As for the July radio ratings, KFNC led in the July weeklong Arbitron numbers and in every daypart among men 25-54, the key demo for sports radio. It led by six-tenths of a share point over KILT (610 AM) in morning drive, by a half-point at middays and by three-tenths of a point in afternoon drive.
In each of the three key dayparts, KILT was second, KBME (790 AM) was third and KGOW (1560 AM) was dead last among sports talkers. The four combined for a weak 3.8 weeklong share and for a 5.9 share in morning drive, which isn’t great but is better than it has been. In persons 12-plus, the only demo in which Arbitron allows numbers to be cited in print, KILT had a 0.9 share and 182,200 weekly cumulative listeners. KFNC had a 0.8 and 133,000, KBME had 0.4 and 130,000, and KGOW had a 0.1 share and 39,400 cume. For comparison purposes, KODA (99.1 FM) had a 7.0 share, and KTBZ (94.5 FM) was at 6.4, and both were among the six local stations with more than a million weekly listeners. Read more at
