Denis Puska returns to AmarilloPress Release
(July 26, 2010) A familiar voice and face to hockey fans is returning to the Texas Panhandle.The Amarillo Bulls, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are pleased to announce the hiring of Denis J. Puska as its first Director of Broadcasting/Communications and Account Manager. Puska spent four years in Amarillo as the Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations and Community Relations for the Amarillo Rattlers/Gorillas of the Central Hockey League. While in Amarillo, the Kapuskasing Ontario Canada native was chosen as the 2004 CHL Broadcaster Of The Year. “I am thrilled and excited to be returning home to a place that has many terrific memories for me and my family,” said Puska. “I want to thank the Amarillo Bulls for giving me this opportunity to be part of their organization. I think the NAHL and junior hockey are a great fit for the Texas Panhandle and I can’t wait to get everyone excited about it.” After leaving Amarillo, Puska spent time with the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League, Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL, and the Flint Generals of the International Hockey League, and launched Puska Media Services, a communications and production service for sports teams and leagues that produces Puska on Pucks - The Original Internet Hockey Show and other podcasts at www.puskaonpucks.com. "It is imperative that we surround our organization with good people. Denis' talent, experience, and passion for the game speak for themselves. However, his history of success and strong relationships in our community are invaluable as we begin to build the foundation of the newest chapter of Hockey in Amarillo. We are very excited to have Denis join the Bulls organization!" said Chris Laurie, Business Consultant. The Amarillo Bulls begin their inaugural season in the North American Hockey League this September at the Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. The Bulls season faces off in early September at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Blaine, Minnesota prior to their home opener on Friday, September 24 against the Texas Tornado. _______________________
