Charlie Tuna set to return to airwavesCourtesy
the St. Louis Post Dispatch
(July 23, 2010) Charlie "Tuna'' Edwards, an outspoken sportscaster who has been off and on St. Louis radio for more than two decades, is about to resurface next week when he joins Robert "Moses'' Knighten at KSLG (1380 AM) from 8-10 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays.
Edwards has billed himself through the years as one of the few local black sportscasters not afraid to address racial issues, and plans to continue that although he says it will be a "more professional" manner than in some previous stints. "I'm not as harsh as I used to be — I have too many (mainstream) advertisers now, but I'm still a stingray,'' he said. "I'll still hit on topics other people still are afraid to talk about.''
