(July 6, 2010) In more sweeping changes by radio station WTMY 1280 in Sarasota, The Ozzie “The Sports Junkie" show has been dropped effective immediately and program director Sean “Ozzie” Osbourne has been fired. Osbourne took over the program director role earlier this year in a previous shakeup at the Sarasota talk station. Osbourne’s sports related talk show had aired 6 to 9PM weeknights.
Last week the station canned the “Jake and Fletch” show after a year on the airwaves. WTMY recently moved to a window front studio on Main St. in downtown Sarasota in hopes of attracting more advertising from local businesses. No word yet on a replacement show in the “Sports Junkies” old time slot. Phil Russell’s “Sarasota Late Night” show remains in its 9PM to midnight position for the time being. Russell’s show combines sports talk with local happenings and guest interviews. Read more at
