Jason Page to call Hartford UFL gamesPress Release
(July 2, 2010) The Hartford Colonials and Clear Channel Radio Connecticut have reached an agreement to become broadcast partners for the upcoming UFL season.
WPOP/ESPN Radio 1410 AM will serve as the official broadcast home of the Hartford Colonials as the professional football team begins its inaugural season in Connecticut. In addition to game coverage, ESPN Radio 1410 will air an exclusive weekly half-hour program featuring Colonials Head Coach and General Manager Chris Palmer. ESPN Radio 1410 sports talk show host Jason Page will handle play-by-play duties for all eight home and away games. Page, a New Haven native, currently hosts the weekday afternoon drive show The Back Page from 3-7 p.m. “Since I arrived in Hartford in February, I’ve become a faithful listener to ESPN Radio 1410 with Jason Page,” Coach Palmer said. “I’ve been very impressed with his knowledge of sports, his candidness and his fairness in addressing daily occurrences and topics in the sports world. I’m very pleased that we have formed this partnership with Clear Channel and ESPN Radio 1410, and I look forward to having them with the Hartford Colonials each step of the way in 2010.” The Colonials play an eight-game schedule, starting September 18 against the Sacramento Mountain Lion at Rentschler Field. Mike Wheeler, Clear Channel Connecticut Operations Manager, said: “We are excited about this new venture with the UFL. We have found the UFL/Hartford Colonials to be a top notch organization with a great plan for their new Connecticut home.
