RIchard Topper out as KGOW GMCourtesy
Houston Chronicle
(June 18, 2010) Richard Topper is no longer general manager at KGOW (1560 AM), station president David Gow said Thursday.
"As we look at the diverse initiatives we are undertaking, we just decided to go in a different direction," Gow said. Gow said Topper, who helped launch the station after directing sales at KILT (610 AM), will not be replaced. Topper said, "I’ve loved the last three years (with the station). It’s been an adventure, and I’m looking forward to the next adventure." KILT, meanwhile, has acquired the local affiliation rights for Westwood One radio, and will air the network’s national NFL package beginning with the Hall of Fame Game next month and running through the Super Bowl. _______________________
