(June 18, 2010) First, a disclaimer.

I appeared fairly regularly on Miccosukee Sports Rap during the past two years, maybe because executive producer Craig Mish needed to cast a midget between Joe Rose and Kim Bokamper on the couch.

And maybe those appearances have something to do with the end of an era.

The final new episode of the longest-running sports talk show in the market will air on Friday on Fox Sports Net.

(There will be a best-of episode on the following Friday, the 25th).

Over a nine-year period, there were more than 450 shows. That’s a pretty good run in a sports market like this.

Regular hosts over the years included Bokamper, Rose, Joe Zagacki and Steve Goldstein, and Julie Donaldson and Allison Williams were the reporters. Regular contributors included O.J. McDuffie, Cliff Floyd, Sammy Knight and Jay Feely. Segment hosts included Steve Shapiro, Orlando Alzugaray, Jorge Sedano, Jon “Stugotz” Weiner and handicapper Adam Meyer.

The guests in studio? There were more than 300.

They’ve included Jim Brown, Pat Riley, Dwyane Wade, Alonzo Mourning, Dennis Rodman, Albert Pujols, Jason Taylor, Pete Rose, Zach Thomas, Roy Jones, Randy Shannon, Andre Johnson…. and unfortunately for the show, myself.
