(June 3, 2010) WBFF anchorwoman Jennifer Gilbert will host a new weekly sports show debuting Sept. 12 and targeted for nationwide distribution.
"The Real Score," will be produced at Baltimore's WBFF studios and distributed to other stations in the Sinclair Broacast Group, which owns WBFF and is headquartered in Hunt Valley. To date, the show has been picked up in 30 cities. The new role will not affect her anchoring duties at WBFF, according to Bill Fanshawe, the station's general manger. Here's the press release: The Real Score a new and unique 60-minute sophisticated sports information show, is set to debut Sunday September 12, 2010 in 30 markets reaching over 22 million homes with more markets expected to be announced shortly. “The Real Score fundamentally believes that the viewer is much smarter than they are being given credit for. We intend to give the viewer access to some of the best minds in the sports industry and have them discuss the issues of the day or use these leaders to provide an in- depth look at how the sports business works. We hope these behind the scenes looks will better enable the viewer to decide for themselves The Real Score,” said David Hersh the show’s creator and its Executive Producer. The initial list of contributing talent for the program includes: Neal Pilson, Jerry Rice, Ron Shapiro, Peter Luukko, Pat Williams, Stan Kasten, Randy Vataha, Vince Dooley, Steve Phillips, Jim Tressel, Carl Peterson, Phil Esposito, Dawn Hudson and Edward DeBartolo. Other weekly features include: In the News -- featuring a summary of the news of the week past and a view of the week ahead as presented by The Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily. Marshall’s Law -- a look at sports as seen through the eyes of Hollywood TV and Film legend Garry Marshall. The Voice of the Future -- featuring students from Sports Business Programs from across the nation. Joe De Feo, a media information expert and former vice president of a corporate news division, is the shows producer. The Real Score and Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., have entered into an agreement that places the program on 20 Fox affiliates preceding NFL football programming and on similar time slots on 10 ABC, CBS, NBC, CW and MNT affiliates. The show will be produced at the Sinclair studios of WBFF-TV in Baltimore, MD. _______________________
