CSU adds Tori Holt to radio teamCourtesy
The Coloradoan
(May 28, 2010) Tori Holt, the radio play-by-play voice of the Colorado Eagles for the franchise's first six seasons, is returning to the Northern Colorado airwaves this fall as part of the CSU broadcast team.
Holt, 35, has been hired as the sideline reporter for Colorado State University football games and the play-by-play voice of the Rams' women's basketball team, CSU officials announced today in conjunction with Nelligan Sports Marketing. ''It's what I was hoping would happen eventually,'' Holt said. ''I've been trying for a while to get involved with CSU … CSU is first-class. It's Division I college football as well as basketball, and it gives me a chance to do play-by-play again.'' Holt, a Windsor resident, spent the past year working in Dallas, where he hosted the pregame and postgame shows for every Dallas Stars game on 1310-AM The Ticket during the 2009-10 NHL season. He also appeared regularly as a guest host on the station's drive-time show, rated No. 1 among sports-talk shows in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Holt's hiring completes a shuffle in the CSU broadcast booth that moved Brian Roth from color commentator for football and women's basketball play-by-play duties to the play-by-play role for football and men's basketball. Kevin McGlue, previously the sideline reporter, is moving into the color commentator's role for football, with Holt sliding into his role. McGlue worked alongside Holt on Eagles broadcasts for several seasons as the color commentator for the Central Hockey League team, then replaced him as the play-by-play voice when Holt left for the job in Dallas. Denver's KLZ (AM 560) is the flagship of the Colorado Sports Radio Network. Fort Collins' KCOL (AM 600) also carries the broadcasts as an affiliate. ''We're very excited about the entire broadcast crew, but to be able to have a guy with Tori's experience and his knowledge of the local marketplace made it even better for our crew,'' said Gary Ozzello, a senior associate athletic director at CSU. ''We were very fortunate to get Tori, and it's a great opportunity for us.'' _______________________
