Ex-sportscaster Art Mack passes away
(May 28, 2010) Longtime local tv/radio sportscaster Art Mack, a former member of the KRIS family, passed away this morning at Christus Spohn Shoreline.
Friends of the family who worked with his wife told 6 News he died from heart failure, while undergoing a procedure to prepare him for a cancer treatment next week. Art Mack has battled throat cancer for some fifteen years. He leaves behind a wife, Cindy, and a 16 year old son, Allan. He began his career in Corpus Christi in 1981 at KZTV, joined KRIS in 1989 as a weekend sports anchor and eventually became sports director. Art Mack left KRIS in 2007 and most recently worked as a real estate agent for Coldwell-Banker. Funeral arrangements are still pending. _______________________
