Padres' Jerry Coleman gets pacemaker
(May 27, 2010) Radio Hall of Fame Padres broadcaster Jerry Coleman was hospitalized Wednesday and underwent a minor surgical procedure to install a pacemaker, sources told SDNN prior to the Padres-Cardinals game.
He is expected to be off the air until Friday. Coleman had notified the club in advance he would have the pacemaker installed. He did not suffer any type of heart failure and is reportedly is in good condition. It was the second health incident in seven weeks for the senior broadcaster on the Padres flagship station, XX-1090. He was briefly taken to a hospital for tests in Denver, on the opening road trip to Colorado, after he passed out while taking a morning stroll from the team hotel. _______________________
