101 ESPN cracks Top 5 in St. LouisPress Release
(May 27, 2010) In the most recent Arbitron ratings report, 101 ESPN delivered a Top 5 performance in the target demographic Men 25-54, while it continues to dominate as St. Louis’ #1 Sports/Talk radio station. These results are according to the April 2010 Arbitron Survey Report, which was released yesterday, May 20, 2010.Both ESPN’s nationally-syndicated “Mike & Mike in the Morning” and 101 ESPN’s “The Fast Lane” shows improved their ranking to #4 among St. Louis Men 25-54, the station’s key listener demographic group. “Mike & Mike” has now been ranked in the Top 5 for AM Drive five out of the past six books. And for five straight months/books, 101 ESPN’s “The Fast Lane” PM Drive show has been ranked in the Top 5 for the St. Louis Arbitron survey. • The “Mike & Mike in the Morning” AM Drive show continues to gain fans among local listeners, with an overall 7.1 rating in the April 2010 book – the show’s highest rating yet on the St. Louis airwaves. For the April survey timeframe, “Mike & Mike” was also ranked #1 in the St. Louis market during the 6am listening hour. • “The Burwell & Stelton Show” continues to show positive growth for 2010, holding steady with the show’s ranking while increasing both their total daily cume and total weekly cume numbers. • “The Bernie Miklasz Show” delivers big time in the April survey with a 6.1 rating, the show’s highest numbers in 2010. • “The Fast Lane” PM Drive Show improves to a 4th place tie for St. Louis Men 25-54. The show’s April 2010 rating was 7.3, their highest performance since the station’s January 2009 inception. “The Fast Lane” is #2 during their timeslot for Time Spent Listening (PPM refers to it as Average Weekly Time Exposed.) According to Program Director Jason Barrett, “The success we’ve achieved at 101 ESPN over the past 16 months is attributed to two factors – tremendous support from one of the most passionate sports radio audiences in the country, and a commitment to excellence from one of the most talented and hardest working broadcasting teams I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with.” Barrett adds, “While I am personally proud of my team and elated with our most recent ratings accomplishments, I’m even more excited about what our future holds. I know the makeup of our staff, and how committed every one of them are about making 101 ESPN one of the most dominant sports radio brands, not just in St. Louis but across the country.” Bonneville St. Louis Vice President and Market Manager John Kijowski comments, “For five months straight, we’ve experienced strong ratings growth in mornings with “Mike & Mike” and during the afternoons with “The Fast Lane”. Each show has consistently been a Top 5 ratings performer by focusing on serving the needs of the local sports audience and by providing compelling content in an entertaining way.” Kijowski continues, “With these two shows experiencing significant growth – and now being ranked as the Top 4 radio programs among our targeted radio listeners – we at Bonneville St. Louis believe that passionate and intelligent sports conversation, delivered by insightful and entertaining personalities, is the best approach.” _______________________
