Press Release

(May 18, 2010) John Leahy, STAA client and the voice of the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League, is soon to be a published author for the first time. He has written a book called "Living A King's Life", which is a day by day diary of the 2009 Kalamazoo Kings minor league baseball club as seen from his perspective in the broadcast booth.

Leahy's book will be a look at the inner workings of a minor league club on a daily basis, but it will also more importantly be an examination of how a baseball broadcaster goes about preparing for a broadcast. "As a broadcaster, the most important element of a successful broadcast is the extent to which one prepares, and the book will enlighten readers as to the importance of this function," Leahy says.

Leahy's book will take readers day by day through the stadiums, the hotels, the clubhouses, and the bus trips around the Frontier League. Meet the personalities that made the 2009 baseball season come alive. With a forward by Jacques Doucet, former Montreal Expos play-by-play great, this book will be an enjoyable read for anyone interested in baseball and broadcasting.
