Steve Hartman leaves KCBS for KTLA
(May 12, 2010) Steve Hartman, KLAC’s middayer, has been doing double duty on KCBS/Channel 2 for over a decade. Last month he flipped from Channels 2 and 9 to KTLA/Channel 5. “I'm on Saturday and Sunday nights during the six and ten o'clock news,” emailed Steve. “Sports Final is a 15-minute sports show that airs every night on KTLA at 10:45. And you'll also see me during the week for live appearances at local sporting events.”
Why the change? “I moved to KTLA because of the management change at KCBS/KCAL this past November. When Don Corsisi moved to KTLA in 2008 he offered me an opportunity to come with him. I decided to stay at KCBS/KCAL but I became increasingly uncomfortable with new management. I am very excited to be at KTLA because they are serious about building a top-notch sports department. Stay tuned for further developments at KTLA.” His career began as the Daily Bruin sports editor at UCLA, where he won accolades for his coverage of the 1980 Final Four. After graduating, he joined KABC as an assistant radio producer and then moved on to the Los Angeles Raiders, where he served as media relations/publications director. _______________________
