(April 28, 2010) It's hard to imagine Brewers radio broadcasts without Bob Uecker, who could be away from the broadcast booth for up to three months after heart surgery scheduled for Friday.
In Uecker's absence, partner Cory Provus (left) is poised to take on an expanded role. Uecker and Provus, who is in his second year with the Brewers, share play-by-play duties during games. Uecker calls six innings: one, two, five, six, eight and nine. Provus calls three innings: three, four and seven. Starting on Thursday, Provus will handle play by play for all innings during the game, as well as his pre- and post-game work. During the 10-game road trip, Provus will get some help from FS Wisconsin's Davey Nelson, who will serve as an analyst for those games. _______________________
