Garry Griffith staying busy on, off air

(April 23, 2010) STAA client Garry Griffith continues working in the broadcast and academic industries.

On Sunday April 25 Griffith will stretch himself as an announcer, calling the play-by-play for the USA Team Handball National Collegiate men's and women's championship games being held in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

"I appreciate Kenn Tomasch for contacting me through the STAA website about this opportunity," Griffith says.

In addition to handball, Griffith has filled in on seven Coastal Carolina University baseball broadcasts this spring and will work the April 30-May 2 series against the University of North Carolina at Asheville along side the 'Voice of the Chanticleers,' Matt Hogue. In mid May he assumes the duties of Director of Media Relations/ Broadcaster for the Normal CornBelters in the independent Frontier League.

Griffith is keeping busy off the air as well. For the second time he taught Introduction to Sports Broadcasting during the spring semester at Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C. In addition, his article Pioneering Baseball: A Montana Summer, is scheduled for publication in the summer issue of Big Sky Journal due out in June.
